Above are just a few of my favourite looks from this years Met Museum Costume Institute Gala in New York. This years gala was held to celebrate the new exhibition at the Met; Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, so obviously, an abundance of opulent McQueen was seen on the red carpet. Surprisingly, the looks I favoured most were the more simple silhouettes with panels of or all-over embellishment with Diane Kruger's Jason Wu dress being my absolute favourite of the night. She can do no wrong in my book.
Honourable mentions go to Gisele Bundchen in that show-stopping fiery 2005 McQueen gown, Paltrow in a simple but stunning sequinned column gown by Stella McCartney, Michelle Williams in custom avian inspired Miu Miu and the blue lace Erdem wonder worn by Lily Donaldson.
