Stills from Water for Elephants. The best film I've seen in a long time.
The setting of the 1930's American travelling circus, the beautiful bias-cut gowns, Rob Pattinson in a tuxedo, the floral silk kimono's and the star of the show; Rosie the elephant all thrown together with the mystical, romantic lighting to make this a mesmerising film.
Thinking of looking into the traditional idea of the travelling circus as a possible starting point for my third year brief...I think the costumes and intricately designed posters could provide me some interesting reference points...
